What is egg donation?

Egg donation is a process where a woman (the egg donor) provides one or several eggs (also known as oocytes) for purposes of assisted reproduction, with the eggs being fertilized in the laboratory. Once fertilized, the resulting embryos are transferred to the recipient’s uterus to initiate a pregnancy, or they can be cryopreserved (frozen) for future use.
 

How much do egg donors get paid?

We are one of the highest-paying egg donor agencies. Our egg donor program payment of $6,000 to $15,000 is among the highest industry wide.

Factors that affect pay include:

Location: Compensation in the USA is in US dollars, in Canada in Canadian Dollars.

Education levels: For example, high School compensation is lower than for PhDs who are compensated higher.

Appearance: Send us a picture preferably taken professionally, and smiling to make you look your best.

Ethnic background: Compensation is higher for donors in short supply like Asians and Indians.

How do you become an egg donor?

The egg donation process involves a screening process for the egg donor, hormonal stimulation of the donor’s ovaries to produce multiple mature eggs, monitoring of the donor’s response to hormones through ultrasound and blood tests, and finally, retrieval of the eggs through a medical procedure known as transvaginal ultrasound aspiration. After egg retrieval, the donor’s role in the process is completed.

Undergo a thorough screening process, including medical evaluations, psychological assessments, and genetic testing to ensure you are a suitable donor. This includes blood tests, ultrasound exams,  and a comprehensive review of your family medical history.

Once approved, you’ll be matched with a recipient. The matching process considers various factors such as physical characteristics, medical compatibility, and personal preferences to ensure the best possible match.

You’ll take hormone injections for 10-14 days to stimulate your ovaries to produce multiple eggs. These medications are carefully monitored to ensure your safety and the optimal growth of your eggs.

During stimulation, you’ll have regular medical appointments for blood tests and ultrasounds to monitor your progress. These visits ensure the medication is working effectively and help us adjust dosages if necessary. transfer

Egg retrieval is a minor surgical procedure performed under sedation. It takes about 20-30 minutes, and you’ll be able to go home the same day. A specialized needle is used to collect the eggs from your ovaries, and you’ll be closely monitored throughout the procedure.

After the retrieval, you’ll have a brief recovery period. Most donors resume normal activities within a few days. Follow-up appointments will ensure you are healing well and address any concerns you might have.
